Prayer Chain
Annual Report
July 1999
The Prayer list at First Presbyterian Church varies during the course of the year from about 70 names to about 120. The list is longest during the winter months. Early in the year Prayer Chain members were divided into three teams reducing the average list size to about 32 entries. We have found this to be more manageable.
We have be actively seeking new members for each team. Currently there are about seven members per team.
Late this year the computer ministry team developed a form that allows people with web access to place Prayer Requests directly into the Prayer Request database. Currently the most popular way to create an entry is to include a prayer request with your worship attendance slip. The request is then published in the Worship summary on Wednesday; picked up by the team manager and then telephoned down the chain. Web access to the database will reduce some of the paperwork. Eventually prayer chain members who have web access will be able to login to the site and access the Prayer Chain database directly. (Most members currently do not have access but we expect this to change in the future.)
