Functions of the Personnel Committee are as follows:

  • Assist with recruitment and hiring of new staff persons.
  • Develop recommendations regarding composition and number of staff needed for efficient and effective operations in the church.
  • Develop recommendations regarding the personnel budget (salaries, benefits, etc.)
  • Attend to questions and concerns from members of the congregation in regard to church staffing.

Future work for the Personnel Committee will depend, to some degree, on the outcome of the current work of the Mission Study group; a group convened to study the congregation’s and the community’s need for an additional ordained staff person. The Mission Study outcome will suggest future tasks for the personnel committee.
