Fiscal year 1999-2000 brought changes to the make-up of the Finance committee. Ralph Nelson, our church Treasurer and member of the Finance committee, moved to Coeur d’Alene. Steve Severn was elected by the congregation as a session member and elected by the session to serve as Treasurer. Ron Jennings also joined the Finance committee. Jill Reardon continues to serve as chair.
The committee, along with Mark Davis, Ron Winans, Eloise Anderson, Nancy Nadolski and Jim Mowbray, has hired Veritas Advisors to guide us through the capital campaign. Ron Jennings and Steve Severn have agreed to serve as co-chairs of the campaign. The campaign will begin in fall 2000 with a goal of retiring the debt. (See detailed information about the capital campaign debt included elsewhere in this annual report.)
We have begun a regular column in First Press with the goal of providing information and answering questions regarding church finances.
We have begun discussions about a multi-year stewardship plan, which will include an "Every Member Visit", the "Pony Express", and other methods of conducting stewardship drives.
