The Facilities Commission has responsibility for maintenance and use of the buildings and grounds. The past year saw the completion of construction and the ongoing remodeling project. We were given the Orchid Award by the Idaho Preservation Council for outstanding architectural design with an eye toward preservation for a job well done. Use of our facility by both member groups and outside users has increased during the past year. The Facilities Commission members are Bob Ruesink, Alan Anderson and Roberta McDonald. Dennis Rooney continues as Facility Manager with able assistance from Spence Stout and Barbara Buoybouynelsonnelson and administrator Sheila Cook. There has been a Facilities Management Team organized to work with Dennis. The report of this group can be found in the section titled "MINISTRY-Outreach in Christ -Partnerships in Mission" later in this publication. It was this committee that organized the "Blue Jeans Sunday". Plans are progressing for other similar events. Activities for the coming year:
Members and friends of First Presbyterian Church can help the Facilities Commission in keeping the building and grounds capable of supporting each and every ministry opportunity that presents itself, and serving as a beacon for Christ within the community and world and by informing us of needed work and suggestions for improvement. Please feel free to call committee members if there are things you see that need attention or if you would like to take an active role in the Facility Management Team. |
